Jang wants to spark Sunni-Shia violence in Quetta to cover up Shia genocide by ISI-backed Jihadis

On 2 June 2012, Pakistan’s pro-military establishment newspaper daily Jang (of the notorious Jang Group / GeoTV) published a malicious news item which is intended to spark Sunni-Shia sectarian violence in Quetta and wider Balochistan.

Everyone knows that Sunnis and Shias are two tolerant peaceful communities and that the ISI-supported Jihadi-sectarian terrorists (Ahle Sunna Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) and Taliban) do not represent moderate Sunni Muslims. Also it is common knowledge that enemies of Shias and Sunnis want to misrepresent the ISI-sponsored Shia genocide as a matter of routine sectarian violence between Sunnis and Shias. Unfortunately certain dubious liberals e.g. Raza Rumi, Ejaz Haider, Hamid Mir and Najam Sethi etc too are involved in spreading such propaganda. The last two journalists belong to notorious Jang Media Group which is known for historical links and close cooperation with Pakistan’s military establishment.

Usually when ISI and its agents have to spread misleading propaganda they do it via their proxies in the media (e.g., Jang, Geo, The Friday Times, Ummat, Jinnah Institute etc).

Qazi Abdul Wahid (DIG in Quetta) is long known as a trustworthy stooge of Pakistan. That man alone is responsible for overseeing and enabling murder of hundreds of Balochs and Shias (including Hazara Shias, Baloch Shias etc) in Balochistan province as instructed by his masters in the ISI and Frontier Constabulary.

On June 1, 2012, a moderate Sunni cleric Moulana AtaUllah Lango’s vehicle came under attack from terrorists at Spini Road and his son was killed while Moulana himself remained safe. Without doubt, this incident occurred at the hands of those elements who’re trying to instigate sectarian strife by killing Shias and Sunnis both.

Disgustingly but not surprisingly, on June 2, 2012, Daily Jang publishes a news repot citing Qazi Abdul Wahid which aimed at blaming two Shia Hazara youngsters for the attempted assassination of Moulana AtaUllah. Qazi Abdul Wahid issued an extremely malicious press statement in which he alleged that Shia Muslims (Shia Hazaras in particular) were involved in a recent attack on a moderate Sunni religious scholar. The news says that these two youngsters were part of a procession from Hazara Town to Marriabad. In fact, no such procession took place in Hazara Town yesterday.

It is common knowledge that moderate Sunni scholars and ordinary citizens are being killed by the same very militants (ASWJ, Taliban etc) who are killing Shias, Ahmadis, Christians and other Pakistanis.

We condemn Jang Group’s and Qazi Abdul Wahid’s malicious propaganda against Shia Hazaras on the behest of their masters in Pakistan army.

We stoutly condemn such conspiratorial and fallacious news, and want to make it clear that JANG group is a biased and corrupt media organization that has published similar untrue news and analysis against Shias of Pakistan in the past. Now, they have taken a particular aim against the Shia Hazaras of Quetta to pave way for sectarian clashes and to further deepen the miseries of Hazaras.

It is our request to Shias and Sunnis, Hazaras, Pashtuns, Balochs etc of Quetta to show vigilance and awareness and play their part in failing the evil plans of strife-instigating media. Besides the media, the role of security agencies is very hypocritical too. They have never caught a single culprit involved in the genocide of Hazaras, and in fact, are now trying to arrest Hazara youngsters by painting them as terrorists.

Shia Hazaras are a peaceful and patriotic nation and aren’t involved in any terrorist activities of sectarian nature.

Quetta’s Sunnis and Shias are united against ASWJ, Taliban and other enemies of Pakistan.
